Perhaps I love my guy enough to close my eyes to some of his idiosyncracies, & he has done the same for me. That's how we've stayed close & loving, & we seldom quarrel. That's precisely why i offered to meet your bf. So that i could find out what went wrong with on his end and tweak it alittle.
Everyone of us expresses love differently. rom one extreme to another. No one is wrong, really. However, without proper communication this might drag a long long time.
It's not that you're too sensitive, seemingly you might have a very girly-nice(really very sweet...i loved my gf to do that) expectation but very quick tempered.
If you're treasure something which worth losing. Maybe you wouldn't call it a treasure at all?

In my humble opinion, true love is learning to forgive, learning to protect, learning to support, learning to understand & learning to accept your bf, warts & all. He ain't perfect, but it's very VERY obvious, neither are you. He has accepted you, apologising, putting up with your rantings & ravings, etc.
What you do for him are little BONUSES, which every girl is capable of. What makes you special is your willingness to make him smilez, Not willingness without hesitation, whatsoever, to make him miserable.

however, treating him nice does now means u can treat him badly when u are not happy. Loving a person (to me) means accepting all his/her faults, odd behaviors and no good things. my wife cant cook, iron, etc (don go into too detail) yet i still love her cos i am ready and willing to accept her as she is.
the things u do, i also do it to my godsis. its sweet but that is oni it. i will call that friendship at a higher level, Love is even above that. its when u are willing to accept that person as he/she is, for better or worse, in good health or bad, for now and forever.
