  as i mentioned...if u support this action ^^ great...if not, i respect yours for watever reason u holds on to. this is perhaps the great thing abt democracy ^^
  
  boy cott will be good...but how many people will do that? hmmmm......
  
  set the boycott on 1st May? tell everyone not to watch movie at the big three cinemas? i think it is a great idea ^^

  No use having the boycott for only 1 day. Such a gesture is unlikely to have any positive impact. It will just show that Singaporeans can't tahan more than 1 day w/o them, even if they raise the ticket prices.
  
  For a boycott to work, Singaporeans must make these 3 cinema operators see a significant (and painful) drop in profits for a significant period of time, and even after that, the no. of customers must remain much lower than before so that their net profit is lower than before they raised the ticket prices.
  
  I shall make the first move. I'm never going to cinemas operated by these 3 companies again, as long as their prices remain elevated. Can always go to Cineleisure (Cathay) instead, or better still, borrow DVDs from the Esplanade library.. free somemore.

  But Singaporeans are earning far less than people in these cities! The mere fact that we have lower ticket prices does not necessarily mean that cinema visits are more affordable for us.. especially since a significant part of our income goes towards repaying the housing loan and car loan (both of which remain among the highest in the world).
  
  And anyway, i do not see any justification for their price increase.. especially when other cinema operators have not even thought that there was a need to raise prices. It is most likely just a bid to increase their profits, that's all.
