By critising the chinese, r u any better? You are also sending the wrong message that there is no need to apologize for mistakes and the onus is for the victims to forget n forgive.

There will be people in Japan who want to think that the war was a small skirmish, and there are people in China who would stop their daily lives to bur n a Japanese flag.Similarly, there are even more people in Japan who disagree with how the government is running the show and they are genuinely shocked and apologetic about the past.I've been to Japan a number of times, and the people I met, upon discovering I'm Singaporean, tend to become very apologetic.It's the government that's screwing things up.

Yes each country set its own laws. I was just explaining the rational behind why rapists are kept behind bars for long period of time and in case of Singapore, also caned (actually many countries too). The act of boycott is strictly not to "punish" the japs per say. I will think of it more as to alert the Jap gov that the chinese and koreans are not push-overs in demanding a change to the japs history txt books. Accurate txt books are important to educate the jap youths so that the rightish military jap gov will not rise up again. With jap's economic might and high technologies who knows what type of terror will a military-minded rightish jap gov do to the east Asia region. -

most chinese, if not all know about the rape of nanking. ask yourself which country do not commit atrocities during war. i am sure that the japanese people know about it too. what purpose does it serve protesting? will it achieve the desired results? it is obvious the japanese aren't bothered about what the chinese think. there are many things that china and korea can do to force japan's hands. why didnt they do it? we know very well that they themselves dont really care enough. if the chinese really hate japan for what happened during WWII why do they still allow japan to invest in china. wait la..in 50 years time when china overtakes japan, she will have no choice but to apologise. her working population is shrinking and lack motivation and determination to work hard unlike her post-war generation whereas china can call upon a workforce of more than half a billion people. its only a matter of time my friend.

Japan will continue to be arrogant due its economy power and influence.
The only way China and Korea can do is to surpass Japan in that.
The proud Japanese will not apologise easily and will always believe it
can fend off competitions from china and korea.
Unless the Japanese government wants to maintains a growing economy,
protects its people overseas and be a friend of other asian countries,
it will never apologise, as apologising will affect its people's pride. -
