What total heck care?! The amount of threads and pages here clearly contradicts your statement. Plslah, do you think we are where we are now if Singaporeans are all self-centred. You think that our success is solely due to excellent policies and excellent government? That racial harmony is achieved because of some system? Plslah, don't underestimate the Singaporean people. All systems will fail if the people involved don't have the right attitude. Where we are now, are testament to the efforts put in by our older generation. The current issue is whether
1) Japan new history books are done in a right way?
2) Japan shud have a permanent seat UN security council?
Boycotting is only to add economy pressure to japan government
to face up the war.
Yes. The current generation of japan had not done wrong.
but the government had yet redress the war issue.
Infact most japanese share the view of its government that they
had done no wrong in the war.
And it continue to teach so to its younger generations.
You do not need to boycott.
The Japanese government will only be too happy.
And will continue to feel their war veterans are heros.
In time, Korea, China, India will rise in the modern economy war.
Adn Japan will forever be known as a country that still lives
in its war time pride.
Thou, despite these said, I for one,
will rather buy korean products more than japanese,
and will not ever work for a japanese company. -

Boycotting
The boycotting in China is a form of protest, and showing of
disapprovement of issues by the public who would otherwise
have ineffective voices.
Some of u said the japanese companies and resturant owners
were not the one who killed during the war.
And some mentioned of its effect on economy.
However, in war, justice and nationalism,
the whole country incl companies are often seen as whole,
and outweighs political and economy issues.
Few can see this since spore is small country w little history.
And sporeans are lik wat other mentioned: pragmatically self-centred.
so much so and has little or no dignity.
In my view, someone who wish to protest
yet do no want to boycott (And has no other means of protest),
just becos they do no wish to lose their sony and sushi,
is like "a child who continue to buy sweets from a murderer" -

What is wrong is wrong.
An entrepenuer who get involved drug-trafficking does not make him innocent.
An entrepenuer that drink-drives does not make him innocent either.
Moreover, runing bussiness are contracts. No one gain nor loss.
You pay for ur sweets. They make money.
They pay u, you work for them and help them make more money.
That does not make them 'contribute' to society.
Such thought that japan contribute to society only
make u seemed childish.
