There are still guys who hold doors for ppl n all those gentlemanly stuff...I am one...but its gd nt to tk it for granted...its nt an obligation on our part...seriously U cant blame Singaporean guys...its nt in our realistic culture...

Indeed, women cry about gender equality, non-sexual discrimination, equal wages and career paths etc, but in the end, they will still complain about things like "Ladies first", "Chivalry", "Gentlemen behaviour" and expecting the men to do this do that....

Hmm.. think its a matter of basic courtesy - nothing to do with chivalry.
It is also very unbecoming when I see ladies in tight skirts scuttling very fast to get a seat.
Holding doors open, offering to carry something for a friend if friend is carrying something heavy are also basic courtesy ba, not something relegated only to guys.
I think.... chivalry is ... a form of kindness. It doesn't need to be demonstrated through assertive action, but through understanding and maturity ba. Which means, chivalry is not just for show and only for pretty girls - but a way of treating fellow human beings, whether male or female, pretty or ugly. -
