Pls support Petition against Casino

Sometime i realy pity those old aunty and uncle who pick up cans. They r poor. Yet i can't do anything to help them. Why? Building casino will divide us into different social class. You can see those Rich man and Women hanging in Marina and Sentosa. While the poor one will be left aside untouch.

dont worry so much. the various religious groups and the govt will do their utmost to keep things within control. the decision has already been made and there is no chance of a reversal. instead of creating unnecessary resistance why dont you spend more time thinking of how we can help reduce the negative impact?

They can create jobs in other area. Casino project is a Sin.....We have the best airport and best seaport. actually...if u look at the economic view...building the world class entertainment centre is not tt bad afterall...at least it helps to create more jobs and help lift up the whole economy...
though i dun quite really like the style of them presenting this idea to us, the public (they already decide liao, then make us voice out...isn't it like a futile attempt?) -

Some points to consider... most of them personal views, so don't flame me....
1. The website above "facts.com etc etc" does not deal with the other social problems that are still prevalent in the society, ie soccer bets, 4-Ds, toto, drugs, hookers etc etc. So by signing into this petition does not help in anyway. The opinions stated in this website are extremely one-sided.
If you are against drinking, would you petition against pubs and bars?
2. Having a casino DOES not cause addiction, it is the individual who has a weakness for gambling that becomes addicted. Do not shift the blame. Every individual has his responsibility to his life and the life of his family. Don't blame the char kway teow seller if your artery gets clogged by cholesterol.
3. I am assuming that you are truthful in your statement that you are 19 yrs old. Don't kill yourself for the casino, what's the point? You think the masses care about your life?
4. As much as your stand is noble and moralistic, there are many sides to any given situation. A personal disagreement, be it moralistic or religious, is not a reason for a universe change to take place.
In case you are wondering, I am a Christian, probably one of the oldest forumite here. I do not gamble, nor do I support gambling. I have been to the best casinos in the world, enjoyed the sights and lights and NOT gambled. I do not have to enslaved by it. On the contrary, I am looking forward to the entertainment and the food there. -
