Though I showed my support for IR in another thread,
Im not entirely in suport for casino.
My view is:
1) 35000 jobs is just a cover up.
=>Main purpose is the extra tax the government can collect
to offset lower tax elsewhere, eg personal, employer, etc.
or even bad decisions in the past, eg Esplanade that is burning money.
The jobs created mainly are low-end jobs that
employ more foriegners.
2) Has the government run out of better ideas for the economy?
These said, w the decision made,
the focus shud be on IR and how to make spore an modern city, not casino. -
