  it's damn high, considering no working experience, no honours, and lousy results.
  Which company is offering that?
  as for long working hours, it's not.
  IT lines have no fixed working hours, it depends on how fast you are able to complete your schedule/task. (though if i try to go guessing by the results, perheps the person would have to work till at least 10pm everyday, if he's only a C+ stud)
  there's only one company which in my memory which would afford such a pay, and it's an MMC, but that is not a good place for workers though.
  
  btw, is it a contract job?
  
  and starting pay for poly will varies, on how good your interview skills, results are.
  and also depending on how urgent the company needs you.
  i would say 1.5k for poly grad is the average now.
