r u english or chinese speaking?

  for me, i switch between them without any conscious effort.
  dun normally speak 1 language unless the person has diffculty understanding either 1 of the language.
  the more languages u know, the better u are, sticking to 1 language is fine but dun throw the rest away, they will come in handy when u need them.

  former british and US colonies like S'pore, India etc. and Australia and Canada use english mainstream

  i hate it when i see tv and when some ppl tok ah, tok chinese halfway mus insert some english term.....

  for fear of sounding too accurately chinese, such a tactic aims to inject a local identity to which TV audience feels a sense of belonging. it is something they can call exclusively their own, and not in common with PRCs
