Jurong West flats-your views

Hi, last sat hdb offers 2000 units of 4/5 room flats all selling below 200K...they even offer premium flats..ready to move in, tiling all done ..on living room, bedroom, toilet and kitchen all selling below 200 k.Surrounding amenities not much except a sports complex being built and a proposed mrt line...I got a few questions:
1) What do you think of Jurong West ? marbolro tan said that they will be building an mrt line beyond boon lay station to serve the area.
2) If i want to sell next time say either a 4/5 room, will i be able to make a profit?
3) Y are the flats cheap in comparision to other ulu places like seng kang..interestingly a 4/5 room at sengkang cost 300k instead?
5) People say JW not a good place to live in, difficult to sell ? Any of thr bros here have real life story to share..

jurong west is good what.. can link to many expressway .. KJE PIE AYE.. these 3 expressway start at there.. from jurong to north side.. the cab fare very cheap only... compared to clementi to north side...

its true about the noise of the planes that land on Tengah Airbase.. very noisy.. but most of the take off and landing i believe are done when there are supposedly no one at home and most should be at work.. occasionally there will be some of these flights that cause certain nuisance.. i know for a fact that on the side of JW that faces the Jurong Industrial Estate, flats can be exposed to some strong chocolate smell on certain seasons of the year.. pending which direction the wind is blowing.. could be quite a big nuisance too..
i went to the showflat yesterday.. there are quite a lot of applicants for these lots of flats.. but i am not one of them.. just went to see see look look with gf..
they are taking some pretty bold moves to transform the region.. and in terms of far.. ask yourself.. will you rather stay in jurong west or in sengkang if all other things being equal?

Yep, the flying from Tengah is one thing. Pretty okay unless they got night flying....but I'm used to it.
The chocolate smell is actually the fumes resulting from burning. If your house got that smell, please don't stay there.....you can tahan for a while but not forever.... -

Nope, my personal opinion is that the smell can cause poisoning over a long time....I used to smell it very often when I was young and was around that area until I got so disgusted by it....

hmm...i happen to live in JW, near jln bahar, and most of the reaction i got was, "wah! so far!"...but, far from where? i'm living near my mum and my in-laws, my sisters, my wife's relatives...my wife's work place is a 10 mins drive away from home...while mine is a 25 mins drive away...
ulu? most of you youngsters go shopping or to a movies in town anyway...no ammenities? we have jurong point, one of the busiest heartland shopping mall, boon lay mrt, the NTU is a stone's throw away, a sports complex is being built, there's also a pioneer mall, with Giant supermarket one of the anchor tenant occupying the 3rd and 4th floor, lot's of coffeeshops, fast food restaurants and jurong east library is only 3 mrt stops away....don't drive? there are feeder buses to boon lay mrt, and even though i'm hear jln bahar, boon lay mrt is only 2 bus stops away...
planes flying over us? you mean, ppl living in sengkang or punggol dun have that? or the planes only fly across JW, giving the rest of singapore a miss...it's usually in the noon time, while me and my wife are working, plus, it's not that frequent too, been here for slightly over a year but i dun hear the planes that often...maybe less than 5 times so far?
and about making money, i think it's the same everywhere ...it all boils down to the market...my sis bought a 3rm flat in a good district at a high price, but have to sell it at a small loss because of the market...
distance is relative...if you drive, it doesn't really bother you...i got my 5rms, premium flat at 202k, and after CPF deduction, my monthly repayment is only 400+, that's 200 odd each for me and my wife...not bad huh? buy a flat to cater for your needs, not other ppl's...it maybe far to some, but near for others... -

But seriously, JW is quite far..if you work in the city.But so is Punggol and Sengkang..JW does seem to have more facilities, and if you can tahan the sounds of our fighters...heh.

Jurong West flats are the cheapest in singapore, i think...
Even a woodlands or sembawang flat cost more than them...
although jurong west flats are great or cheap in terms of monetary value...
the environment aren't so fantastic... if you doesn't work in tuas or jurong area, it isn't worth it.... many heavy industries are nearby, where there are lots of industrial exhaust and dust.... also, some big birdies are always flying above you.... some says those big birdies' species are call F-16... anyway residents should be grateful, it is much worse if the birds are of the now locally extinct species, A4....
lastly, it is far away from all parts of singapore....
you are not so accessible or need more travelling time to the town or other places...
all these justify the cost... i did recommend you stay somewhere else... -
best is stay at orchard la, the esplanade there la. its the best.
