anyone going this year?
it's funny that every year, the stadium or padang(for this year) is always packed with spectators.
wad makes them want to go there?
sitting under the sun playing with the mini state flag and other little "toys" in the goody bag.
maybe pple go there for the sake for those "toys" ya?
S'poreans are kiasu.
but the main point is: in the stadium, you only get fixed view of everything. unlike at home where you have different views, scenes and still have commentator of using languages at different tv channels.
majority of the pple rather staying at home watching the parade but still, the number of pple who go to watch NDP live has not be declining.
anyone knows the reason why? -

it is the atmosphere there. i can tell u it is a diff thing sitting at home in front of ur tv & sitting at the actual place.

if im not mistaken... civil workers and government officials are given free tix for family to go... so its probably the same old people there

Are you from one of the 3 DIV units? Based on my observation, there is a big occasion every 5th NDP with 3 DIV in charge. and i observe that all the National Day Parade Celebrations in padangs are always more grand than in the stadium.

This year also got mobile column featuring various armoured vehicles and what not. My platoon mate is involved as a Bronco driver. And he ORDs in September!! Poor guy..
