i'll never miss watching the NDP every year.
do you all still watch the parade on TV?
coz it's like S'pore channels all telecast NDP on national day and left with only SCV programmes.
i'll only watch the ceremonial parade and then switch to watch programmes. think the Show Segment should have more interesting performances; every year see whole lump of pple carrying coloured boards running about the field and trying to form pictures.
and this "trend" is carrying on for several years.
don't the organisers for the Show Segment get sick? -

To see if the Ceremonial Marching Contingent got screwed up or not....

Hiya, NDP is the same every year.. I get goosebumps every time they try to incorporate National Education messages into the performance segment, they can get very rou ma at times.

and the skools also if i not wrong of the participant from skools are "coercd" into doing the thing one not like the soka or what pple, they are volunteers -

why not:
1. let the ppl decide how they like to celebrate this day, and the authorities facilitate the plans, or
2. instead of a centralised celebration, have it decentralised at smaller scale at several different spots in singapore, to be conducted simultaneously, with different programme. alot more work and coordination, but more fun and buzz and excitement and wider reach, or
3. something else. -
i'm only watch the parade only, the rest of the show i'm not interested.

to tell people friends relatives you had been to the national stadium to watch NDP, just like a kid tells his classmates he went to lim chu kangvwith his parents to "buy" vegetables

I was among the spectators when I was in kindergarten (NDP 1989).
I was on the field when I was in the army (NDP 2003).
