SGD 500 is not too bad in my opinion. The original XBOx had a higher price anyway
PS2 had a SGD1000 price tag when it released. I think its good deal since u get three IBM PowerPC cpus @ 3.2 GIG -
And i can sure confirm this one can run Windows, surf internet and do all that the PC can

I had been following the Xbox since 2000 for sometime. I think MS had thrown lots of money into wooing Japanese game developers like Sega and had done pretty well in their plans and marketing. I think they perfectly knew how the whole bloody politics works, heck they even managed to persuade Konami, a hardcore loyal Sony devloper into releasing MGS 2 for box (MGS 2 was a PS2 exclusive and a selling point for Sony). Butt here are still some devlopers like Square and Enix who chose to remain loyal to Sony. So MS had to make up for that by conquering american market by releasing these fav. games of Americans like NBA, FIFA and Madden.
Square and Enix need a convincing point to support MS. SO pls dunt misunderstand Bill gates if he did release too many sports games. It was to corner the US market and to eliminate the PS2 so that Square and Enix need a reason to support Xbox
The lesson I learnt from the last console war is that "Dont mess with MS, even if u are Sony, they lose they wont go down without a fight" -

MS was targetted for Korea because of its broadband connectivity.
