Singaporeans are inconsiderate

1)Its true that Singaporeans cannot keep to one side of the escalator, but i have not encountered them looking angrily at me
2)Singapore service is okay, except i hardly hear a sincere saying of the word "Thank you"
3)Cut Q?I have hardly seen it
4)Jaywalker, obviously the jaywalker would use the most oppurtunate time and roughly estimate when is the best time to dash across the road right
Some people just like to make use of one experience to sterotype, i dont know if you are one of them -

in shopping mall, nobody wants to walk on escalator.. so, ends up queuing for the left side. -
Its a shame that the Singaporean here tends to shrug off this problem rather than to make amends.
Preferring to flaming others constructive criticism, how are we going to live up to us being a true International City.....the mecca of metros in Asia?!
All the government effort in promoting Singapore to the world would be wash off the face of the earth like a tsunami, if we, the people of Singapore, do not learn to accept and amend criticism well.
With the on going efforts of the government in developing a multi billion dollar integrated resort, all we are going to do is destroy it with our conceitedness.
We should learn from the countries that had succeeded, as they had also learn from others.
So stop being a baby and be the real man for Singapore. -

Unfortunately I agree that Singaporeans are one of the most uncourteous and inconsiderate bunch. I'm not saying you all are - it's just an observation I have made.
I left Singapore many years ago and when I hear holidaymakers in my new home country talking, I can always establish whether they are from Singapore (accent, mannerisms). Singaporeans are always complaining, littering, talking loudly or rushing to be the first and oblivious to people around them. It really makes me embarressed to tell people that I was once a Singaporean. Everyone shakes their head when they see Singaporeans behave.
Now I'm not saying all Singaporeans are rude. It's just that I have yet to see a Singaporean tourist behave in a courteous and gracious manner overseas. Every time I go back to SG for a holiday, I have to get used to the ungraciousness again. I don't see how running to be first in line for the bus can make you get to your destination sooner. And it's sad to see people fighting with the disabled for seats.
It is a sad, sad fact that I attribute to the upbringing, mentality and cultural mindsets of Singaporeans. Even after so many years, the culture of Singaporeans has not caught up with the increased economic prosperity. Sometimes I wonder if Singapore is fit to wear the tag of a "developed" nation.

there have been very good points laid out.. and this thread is become a futile one.. no matter how much common sense and righteousness we try to instill in people.. they just wont listen.. the problems that we are facing now are only able to be left there as it is.

One particular thing that drives me nuts is that very often, Singaporean tourists loudly compare whatever country they're visiting to Singapore, right in front of the local tour guide. I can only imagine what the poor tour guides must feel hearing a bunch of boorish Singaporeans insulting their homeland. And don't get me started on the food comments. All I can say is, if you're in Rome, eat what the Romans eat. If you are only willing to eat Singapore/Chinese food, for goodness sake stay at home and don't travel.
Of course, not ALL Singaporeans are like that, the main culprits are usually the middle-aged housewives/aunties and elderly folks. Thankfully the younger ones seem to be able to conduct themselves with more decorum(well, not all of them). -

Jaywalking is quite a serious problem here, I see people taking some really crazy chances, and am actually quite suprised that not more people are killed on the roads each year. -

Buses and MRT Cut-Q? we have bus-stop, u tell me how to form a Q-line? u thought watching HK drama ar..only got one bus-stop-pole and people just line-up.
MRT..more funny..who think Q really needed for taking the train? u tell me lah.
if like that also can, do u Q-up to go to school by gate? Q-up to enter the class? Q-up to jump in swimming pool?
In singapore , most people will Q when banking, buying ticket...etc and i think good enough.
Q-up in singapore consider good already, althought something not perfect. -
