I never really intended to meet people, but I've met 3 so far....accidentally.
Strange, I knew them all the time in real life, but just didn't know they were members here.....till one day we sat down and started gossiping. They're all staff at a certain gym I use. They are tnemgarf, SBGi SG and bacaraat. -

somehow meeting strangers dont really give me the kick anymore
small talk and all that rubbish *yawns*
But for those active and ex-active
dont u think EVERY group of those irc people you meet
all end up being about the same?
As in there are always the SAME TYPES of people in every group
it never fails...
and there's always.. ALWAYS some weirdo in one of these groups
that eventually rears their heads and reveal their total out-of-sync-with-rest-of-society-and-worldness. -

but I think you misunderstand that I am criticising people or trying to point out merits or faults
Actually, What I was pointing out was the sociological make up of groups, that people tends to gravitate towards certain 'roles' and often, I just find that in every group, there is always a very dysfunctional person - that people will be at once horrified yet fascinated with - that perhaps this person EVEN ties/bonds the group together.
Also, I find IRC groups tend to be remarkably similar. While I have different groups of friends with different interests in real life... the group 'make up' is often very different.
However, the groups I've encountered via irc, through different phases of my life, are strangely repetitive! Despite a range of 14 - 40 years in age, each group always having people playing 'same roles'.
Like.. usually will have one 'big brother/sister', one 'small didi/meimei', one 'joker but actually very sensitive person', one 'try to act cool person', one 'weirdo' and etc etc. And DEFINITELY will have at least 1 relationship problem in the group where someone is sleeping with someone they shouldnt.
Note, I am talking abt GROUPS ya.. not.. individuals. Just observation. Not criticism. -
