Do U think that MRT Circle line Redundent?

Sg's such a small place.. and look it's so wired up with NEL and the other existing MRT Lines.. + such efficient bus services + cabs... do you think building the circle line's a waste of taxpayers money? Such a project will definately incur a huge cost.. which may be reflected in increasing transport fares...do you think it's worth it?

The Nicoll Highway collapse already illustrated that Singapore's geology is not suitable for too many tunnels. Already the CBD has EWL, NSL and NEL tunnels, so building more subway tunnels will only destabilise the ground further. Especially since Nicoll Highway was built on reclaimed land.
Frankly, I would rather the CCL bypass the CBD altogether and run from BNV to PYL only. It is better off as a suburban line. The CBD is well-served by bus routes. -
Actually... The CCL area is already served by extensive bus svs...
And, the line serves mainly low density housing est, Ind Est, pte housing areas, it might even be worst than NEL -
Exactly.... I wonder who came up with the idea of having the Circle line...
Buses can send us to our doorsteps...whereas MRT can't...sometimes even MRT's faster... we'll still have to switch to a bus service to get to our destination....the MRT stations's not always situated next to our destination.
If they feel that Sg's transport sys. isn't good enough, why not just spend on improving the current existing bus services, instead of spending lots more (billions infact)...building those redundent mrt lines.... I bet these stations will be under-utilised later on...and how about the costs? It'll fall on us fellow Sg citizens.... perhaps they'll do the same like what they did after the NEL started operating.... maybe cease a few bus services here and there (to reduce duplication)..in other words.. force us to utilise their MRT services... and they'll claim that they are making losses... blah blah.. in the end.. they will have no choice but to increase our MRT fares AGAIN.
This aren't plain accusations... didn't it happen before?
I wonder how will the transportation costs (fares i mean) be a decade later... will it cost 3 bucks just to take a train from one end of Sg to the other end?
They should have started a poll or maybe ask us, taxpayers and future taxpayers (perhaps this is navie on my part.. coz it seemed like we citizens have little or no say at all - just look at the Casino project..) , economist and professional analyst (& wadeva), whether building a circle line is appropriate. I've got this gut feeling that it'll be another "money losing" project...and we're gonna bear the cost again...

Looking at the entrance an exit may give u an answer...And how it is contructed, the materials, construction principles ect.... -
I think Circle line is the last in the MRT projects? They further reduce travelling time for ppl in the North to somewhere say Clementi or Serangoon? Currently for northerner to go west and east is a very very long time even with MRT. North to east is the worst of all. Only got express bus but no MRT. With Circle line they can go down to say AMK or Bishan then from there switch station and then viola can reach east and west side much faster. Likewise it allow ppl in the east or west to come north faster. Not also to forget allow the NEL line nearby residents to get connected to the north, east and west?

There is talk about possible lines like Bukit Timah and Eastern Regional lines. Well if you must grumble I did about the same journey to clementi for NUS. I stay north leh.... so usually 8 am lecture I will not be able to make it cuz I like to sleep hahahaha.....
Now working I pity the most is people who work at Tuas there is really really really far.... take to boon lay mrt still muz take a feeder bus go inside....... unless got company transport else hahhaa... taxi also dun wan go in sometimes. -

nah im not really grumbling. well as u can see the trainline will eventually serve other ppl, who like me have to travel that dist to sch or work. Buses are good, i take only buses to town. but if u got to keep changing buses to get to an area.. its really tiring.

From Yishun to Clementi, you can take the NSL via Woodlands, unless you are talking about pre-1996 era.
Well when I study in NUS it is before 1996 era. Hahhhaaa... so you can guess I how old hor hahahaha.....
