Do U think that MRT Circle line Redundent?

Sometimes buses are faster....
Going to punggol from tampines takes around 20mins on service 27.
But if anyone were to take a train all the way from Tampines MRT thru' City Hall to Outram and & switch to the NEL...... lol... it's seriously time consuming & stupid.. unless that fella loves to take train...
As for the circle line....
I used to live at Tanjong Katong (near Queen Of Peace Church).. Paya Lebar's the nearest MRT.. and it takes like only 10 mins to walk there.. and less than 5 mins to get there by bus... and it takes less than 3 mins to get Machperson from Paya Lebar on a bus (further more there are around 5 bus services that either go thru or passby these 2 places!)
I see no point in building such MRT stations... Even if they wanted to.. they should build one at Marine Parade...where there's a shopping complex and lotsa housing estate mah! yah.. but sad to say.. it's out of the the way.....

There's an additional phase 6 connecting HarbourFront and Millenia via Marina South but has been temporary put off. lol... they trying to create more jobs... build mrt hire workers ma... engineer etc... but to tell the truth i wun take circle line lor... later it collapse... *choy*

Even if they hire workers...alot of them are not singaporeans too.. esp those construction workers...lotsa them come from Blangadesh,India,china,malaysia etc.. even some engineers and experts are from Japan etc (taking the Nicoll highway thingy for an example. Just look who's being sued). I'm not sayin all.. but quite a huge proportion of workers who contributed to the building of such infrastructures are usually not Singaporeans!
I rather they try to improve the current existing Bus services...at least if more jobs are created...they will go to our fellow countrymen! Lolz -

Do you know that the NEL is losing money? Although there ARE people like you who do use them..it's still NOT up to their expected passenger numbers.
Costs > Revenue
So you mean if u're gonna use the lines later on, means that these lines are worth building? Just because you are using it? -

Well..no matter how negative the opinions we give in this thread are..its not gonna change the govt's plans..... what can we do but take things as it is...juz look at the advantageous side... maybe this new line will benefit some of us...

terrorism isnt realli tat "on" here thanks to the police and all...
but tat doesnt mean now singapore is safe and it will remain tat wae forever and ever one...
and seriously which army have u heard of tat doesnt protect their own lines of supplies one???

1)the circle line starts at harbourfront which is close to keppel harbour, one of singapore's biggest port(besides jurong ah) tat is able to handle large cargoes like military hardware(for example)
so in times of an enemy invasion, i would like to sae tat there is a high possibility of other countries lending us a hand...and using the circle line helps ensure the safety in the movement of supplies from the rear to the front la...
and even if u sae tat the trains themselves cannot carry the equipment like tanks and self-propelled artillery...
can u imagine if we just took out the train tracks???
it will be possible to convert the circle line into an underground supply line...u geddit drift???
2)i presume u heard of using airpower to interdict one's supply line??
it doesnt apply here though...the circle line is COMPLETELY UNDERGROUND...
and even if the enemy has GBUs(a type of bomb adapted to penetrate concrete and earth to destroy targets like underground bunkers for example)
it doesnt work here also...the tunnels realli too deep down for the bombs to work...so again...tis helps ensure the safe transit of supplies\men to the frontlines(even though it may be part of the wae but it's at least better then nothing rite???)..
3)lastly...in times like if we fail and are forced to retreat off our homeland(i'm praying tis doesnt happen but wth, train for the worst, hope for the best bah
)the circle line, again because it's underground and offers safe passage to keppel harbour...it could also be used to evacute troops\civilians out of singapore bah...

Sg is an island exposed to the seas in all directions. We have more than one port and naval bases everywhere. If u say Sg government made that circle line for war transportation purpose...
You sounded as if they know where's the enemy coming in.. and how they are invading...by land,sea or sky? what if they enter from the other side of Singapore? E.g Pasir Ris/Changi?
Citing the 911 incident, those 2 tall buildings just collapsed into huge heaps or rubble just in a couple of minutes.. so did their subways help in anyway? -

AND.. u said safe passage.... haven't you heard about gas poisoning in subways in some countries? And after "removing" your mrt tracks.. no trains can travel.. u expect people to walk from Tanjong Katong to Habour Front to escape to Sentosa?
