Marine Parade(Parkway Parade area) is the type of place which should have an MRT Station. Paya Lebar/Eunos Stations are not near enough.Tanjong Katong CCL Station maybe is a little closer(dunno if got much difference from Paya Lebar), but still needs to take bus.Originally posted by silv3rgal:I see no point in building such MRT stations... Even if they wanted to.. they should build one at Marine Parade...where there's a shopping complex and lotsa housing estate mah! yah.. but sad to say.. it's out of the the way.....
Yah... But in future, most lines the train only have 3 carriage 1/2 of what current MRT has... CCL is 1 exampleOriginally posted by disappear:Marine Parade(Parkway Parade area) is the type of place which should have an MRT Station. Maybe Bukit Timah Line will have full 6-car train, since it is a radial line leading to the city? ERL is different case, because it is there to cover area not served by EWL, so in a way it is complementing EWL, so maybe it is only 3 carriage only??Originally posted by sbst275:Yah... The long term target is 540km of rail network, it really means most part of singapore either tunnelling or build mrt/lrt viaduct. i dont know if 540km is too much. but i feels that certain lines have to be present to make the current MRT network make sense. NSL, EWL and NEL only is definitely not enough. I feels that CCL and BTL has to be present at least. i think ERL is helpful too, so is North Shore Line. Not sure about other lines.Originally posted by sbst275:And can really entire SG be tunnelled up? Aft spate of sinking incidents at CCL?
The proposed ERL will run thru Marine Parade.Originally posted by disappear:Marine Parade(Parkway Parade area) is the type of place which should have an MRT Station. The thing is, they are just expanding for the sake of expanding the railway network, look at CCL, land sinking they just give other reason that it is not their fault, when obviously it is theirs..Originally posted by disappear:The long term target is 540km of rail network, it really means most part of singapore either tunnelling or build mrt/lrt viaduct. i dont know if 540km is too much. but i feels that certain lines have to be present to make the current MRT network make sense.
