Early in the morning taking MRT to work. Saw a pregnant lady came in standing not far away from me ( i was standing too). She stand in front of a guy , dat guy saw her but after dat he close his eyes pretend to sleep. I dunno y no one give up their seat for her.. I find her so poor thing standing with her tummy so big.
If it happen to u wat will u do?
1) Like the actress in Sassy girl scold dat guy ask him to give up his seat to dat women?
2) Act blur??

I think if I were younger, I "boh chap", "pai seh" lah. But now that I am aunty, maybe I will ask the man to make way for the pregnant lady.

maybe say "eh you dont pretend ah, i know you're not asleep"

Logically speaking, the guy didn't do anything wrong, nor did he do anything right. He probably fell "asleep" because he felt a little guilty.
I remembered 3 days ago, an old lady on a wheelchair approached my friend. She didn't have 1 of her limbs. She asked my friend to help push her to the nearby MRT Station. My friend just came back from a basketball session and had leg cramp, so he told her we were busy and he had leg cramp. The old lady almost cried out, claiming that she would had walked there herself if she still had her leg. However, the rest of us just stood there doing nothing. I did felt a little guilty and wanted to help the old lady but, I don't know why I just stood there.
I guess these are just some ironies of life. -

The most I'd do is to rush for the next available seat, then offer it to her. But I will not interfere directly (I'm very fragile....suddenly I get whacked, who will come and save me?).
OK OK....if she is really having difficulty, I may go down on all fours and offer her to sit on my back. -
usually the person sitting beside the guy pretending to be asleep will give up his seat .. no one on the MRT offer the lady a seat? wat a world so sad ..

i rather stand. this obligation to give up seats is too heavy for me. i stand noone will complain and i get my much needed peace and rest, and some shut eyes..

Yesterday on the way home, I was on bus 293. As those who usually take this bus home can attest, the queue was disgusting long, the buses took their sweet time coming. By the time I got onto the bus and sank myself down to a seat, I was utterly exhausted from the gruelling queuing, not to mention the long walk I had before reaching the bus interchange.
I had barely warm my seat when this lady board the bus with two young kids. I immediately gave up my seat to her.
Just to clarify, I really hate kids.
Giving up the seat was because it was the right and gracious thing to do, not because I like young monsters. Which is something more Singaporeans should understand.
But what happened next was terrible. An aged couple boarded the bus at the next stop. They are really old and was kinda feeble if you get what I mean. But after witnessing me giving up my seat for the lady, the other people on the bus did not bother to even acknowledge the old couple !
I mean my act should have set a precedent and let the others follow as a good example. Especially for those who use "shy" and "paiseh" as an excuse !
I am ashamed to take the same bus as the people I went home with last night. -
i prefer to stand in bus or mrt ... unless really got sit ... than i will rest my butt
normally ... i will help look for empty sit near me.... if have i will block in front of the empty sit and wave to let those needed to get the sit

maybe cannot tell whether pregnant or fat??? nowadays many pregnant women don't exactly wear old-fashioned pregnant clothes...

I gave up my seat to someone I thought was pregnant. Turned out she was fat. I dunno if she was embarrased, but I was.

Oh yah, I also kenah before.....
Once I left my seat for an old lady. But before the old lady could sit down, a schoolboy rushed in and sat there. I polite told the schoolboy "excuse me....", but the old lady stopped me, saying that kids should also have the chance to sit. -
