i empathise with u... and i believe it is a passing stage... as u grow older, ur elders will not treat u as they are now...

all in all, i m not advocating that teachers can abuse their authority, but shld at least reserve the right to mete out punishment if students become unruly... -

i dun think we r putting anyone down... the prob that students are beginning to show very little respect in school is a true and growing prob...
what i do hope to see, like i mention earlier, is that parents will stop for a moment b4 they critise teachers and reflect on how they had discipline their children first... at the same time, teachers should reserve the right to discipline without having to worry abt repercussion.. -

itz true that parents have to sole right to punish their children... but think again, when students are at school, teachers become their 2nd educator... as an educator, teachers do not only impart knowledge, but they also have the responsibility to instill discipline, and teach them what's right and wrong...
i dun think teachers should cane a student as much as parents do, but when a child is wrong, he/she should be taught of the consequences... -

Like it or not, S'pore is going downhill with the kind of values we are encouraging in our young families these days. Respect and hardwork are long forgotten. Giving in to cases of students/parent threatening schools with lawyers and MPs are reasons for the kind of kids we're bringing up. MOE should give such students/parents 1-way ticket out, instead of giving in.
Sure, our younger generation (teens and younger) have a real great time in schools now, with no fear of punishment. but imagine what our future holds... grooming leaders of tomorrow? haha... a real joke... -
fine. respect to the teachers, worship them! let them rain their wrath and psychotic mood on the kids.
