Seeing that some of you are quite knowlegable on this industry, I'd really appreciate some advise you could dispense.Basically, I'm a final yr accountancy undergrad at NTU and am quite confident of securing 1st class honours.
I have a life long ambition of trying out trading and eventually moving onto investment banking(IPOs etc.).But from what i hear, to get directly into these big banks as a frash grad requires superhuman grades and the likes.I've got every intention of doing my CFA immediately upon graduating.
The problem I have is that i can take the "safe" route into the big 4 accounting firms, spend a couple of yrs there while doing my CFA and then eventually move onto the big banks.Or the other way, forget abt the big 4 and try entering the big banks directly with no guaratee whatsoever of securing employment.
I'm generally knowlegable on fundamental style of investing and am currently reading up on technical investing as part of my research.Plus,i'm generally well versed with current affairs, global politics and ecomics.
What should I do?Is there anything the big 4 can offer me in terms on valuiable experience and knowledge?
u sound like a high flyer... wait for the headhunters!!
