Is this what school in singapore supposed to teach?

today, I took Bus service no 31 around 6:45pm at parkway.
In this bus, there was a group of students and a few young girls sitting in front of the bus. The bus was crowded and i was being pushed to the end and left standing.
The group of students chit-chat and laughed. However, next to them, there was a pregnant woman standing just next to them. To my surprise, they just ignored her. Nobody in that 15 minutes bus ride giving up their seat to this pregnant woman.
Is this what students taught in singapore school?
what is the point to earn top grade while you fail in moral study?
sometimes, i think that singapore education just encourages for top grade and ignore the basic - on how to become a proper human!!!
if this is not changed, i will definintely send my sons to study somewhere else instead of singapore. Otherwise, with the ignorance of singapore education system, i may get tortuned when i'm old.... because singapore education never teaches my sons how to respect elder.

Parents, in my opinion, are like CEO. they are the ones who ultimately responsible. But I think schools (like middle management) play an important roles as well especially peer pressure in the school. (my mom always told me that "i just have to see your school friends and I will know whether you will be good or bad"Wink.
if all your school friends don't give up seat to needy people, you will tend to do the same. If your school friends give seats and are polite, you will be one of them as well.

Yes, there's something wrong with the education system here unlike in other countries.
I see ignorant kids here compared to the kids in UK or NZ -
My kids if i ever have one will be better off somewhere else than here.

Remember 20 years back where sch is so strict n regimental n parent is so strict. caning in school n caning from parent is so common. Last time, students r well behave n possess more morale.
Now, its totally different, over protected, spolit, brat, etc. A little bit of caning den wanna complain. All thanks to the westernize culture, yeah it do a part in modernize the country but it corrode the rotting mind n morale of modern children.
Now spore more n more jia kang tang, banana men, only know how to speak english chinese kid. Talk to them in chinese n they willl reply in english. -

Maybe they were too engrossed in their conversation to notice her or something? Maybe that pregnant woman isn't no weakling that's why she can cram together with people in a public transport. For all you know, she might be a ruthless lady boss that orders her staff around
Jokes aside, if they didn't give up their seat, maybe you could give up your seat or escort her to an empty seat. -
Oh btw, if she really need a seat she should ask, I got one incident that I was carrying a lot of books in my hand, my bag was too full I thought it would burst anytime! I was sweating profusely and badly neede a seat to rest my tired shoulders from all the heavy load and guess what? Got quite a number of old people and uncles/aunties were ignoring me! I think they were some teenagers too..I have to ask one uncle to give way to an empty seat beside him and he gladly stood up to let me in.

probably i should squeeze towards front and told them to give up their seat.....
they know the existence of the pregnant women because they make sure that their heads not turning towards pregnant woman's direction...

), thats for empty seats on the inside, if no other seats then must guage if the person can stand if i think the person no prob i also wont auto unless asked. giving up seats to pple who need it more is good but but also must judge for yourself not see older or pregnant women only give up -
I have on several occassions given up my seat on the train to pregnant women and guess what, I did not even receive a word of acknowledgement or thanks. So annoying! Nowadays, I would ask the woman while I'm still seated and if she smiles, then I give up my seat.
I think there are Singaporeans are just not friendly to strangers, whether they are suppose to show or receive a courtesy. -
when i board a bus and i see there are not many seats left then i'll stand.(sometimes depends on my tiredness)

I was rejected a few times by pregnant women whenever i try to offer my seat... Then there who sit one sometimes only take mrt for 1 or 2 stops.. she sit down liao then faster get up... I see liao also lan lan -

last sunday, a mother with 2 kids dropped a pair of kid socks on the floor in MRT. i told the mom and she didn't even say 'thank you'... no even a sign of appreciation..
got damn tu lan.. and my gf said that as long as we did good, it's fine liao...
