Starting a Webpage

I'm planning on starting a webpage for my group of kakis.
What are the steps to be taken? How do I go about registering a domain name? Which do you think should I get, a .sg or a .com one? -
u got money to pay for server? Should get a .net one.

.org-->organization sounds good if you are doing it for a group. first step is to search for web hosting on yahoo or google.

Its cheaper to register an international domain than a .sg
It is cheaper to register at international website like godaddy.com - US$8.99 or cheaper for most domain names. -
if u just wanna do it for fun
perhaps u can try geocities
it`s free and easy to navigate
it`s built on java and operates machiam like microsoft word..
tt`s if u`re jus looking for basic webpage facilities...
like a portal/ start up page or just for viewing
it`s it`s more for data/forum/survey/sales or basically anyother stuff
then pls ignore my post
other than that
if u`re only using it as a portal or for viewing photos
then geocities is best

Btw, domain names like .net, .org. com. and .biz are all the same prices, some domain names like .cc or .com.my, you have to pay more. As for diskspace, it's good enough to have around 50mb un less you are going to upload a lot of images, plugins etc. then you 'll need more Bandwidth will reset every month. -

Hi yo ucould use the search engine to search for a local web hosting company, I think it's quite reliable. Let's say we already have an external forum of our own. And all I want is just to set up a webpage and a domain name.
So... what would I need? -
erm ,what kind of community did you use to create the forum? phpbb or..? Because some latest version of cpanel provide scripts that set up forums almost immediately, so you can move all your databases there.
