there were 4 in the pond there.. it's a native of the Amazon and they grow to about 13 to 15 feet and up to about 100kg...

and the rundown of the thing...
it's a strange creature.. which is actually made up of 4 different types of polyps living in symbiosis with each other... the top part is made up of a bladder which is usually filled with nitrogen.. the other 3 types of polyps concern themselves with catching prey, which can be anything...
they are highly poisonous but sea turtles which are immune to the poison eat them... -

wait until it's the season.. else the flesh isn't nice at all.. i think it should be either beginning or end of autumn.. do check that out before actually flying there

My friends said around Nov/Dec...eating nice big crabs while enjoying the hot springs...ah.. thats life! c'est le vie~

check this out.. strangest shellfish in the world.. a Geoduck (pronounced gooey-duck which means "to burrow" in some American Indian language or something)
silly-looking thing, it's bigger than it's shell
and it digs in really fast so it's kinda hard to catch them... oh.. i think the chinese word for it is "elephant trunk clam" -

A rare - and dead - oarfish washed up at City Beach in Perth
The serpent-like animal was found six metres offshore, bringing to at least six the number of oarfish that have washed up on the West Australian coast in recent months. Prefering to live in the depths of the ocean they have only been known to come to the surface when sick or dying and have rarely been seen alive.
