Laptop recommendations

  hi all, I need help in choosing a lappy. the budget is about 2k. erm, the size and weight isn't a prob coz it's gonna be used at home only.
  
  pls give suggestions. right now, i am eyeing an NEC E6600(i think) and acer 4152. any comments on these 2 lappy?

  hmm i oso think acer not bad. the screen is matt one somemore. i dun like reflective screens.

  budden again har .. if you ony going to use for home why not DIY a PC, with that amount you can get a good 17" or 19" flat screen

  dell la if ur budget is 2k.the difference between dell and the acer ones's are the graphics card.for the same price,my fren and i bought laptops same specs but i just got an extra ati radeon as compared to his integrated graphics card.but den again laptops aren't really meant for playing.heh

  Yah lor .. can be very tempting because is cheap but personally I prefer a desktop to a laptops anyday even though I'm forced to work on 1 in my office sigh ... so uncomfortable trying to squeeze fingers in the small keypad.
  
  But right now the only upgrade plans I'm in the market for is a good responsive mouse and a new solid graphics card for my home PC.

  If it's just for home use buy a DIY desktop. U can save up to $500 bucks from your 2k budget.
  
  Notebooks depreciate steeply, with almost non-existent upgrade capabilities and usually start to give problems after one half years. After 2 years they become totally unreliable.
  
  I used to own a digitek notebook (what the hell was i thinking! ). After 2 plus years i managed to sell it off to 2nd hand shops for 550 bucks.
  
  Unless you intend to spend some good money or need to present items to clients on the move, stick to desktops...you won't regret it.
