90s were amazing. The best years of my life were spent at the old Macs at Far East Plaza b4 beng culture slowly filtered in there.Nows that place is rubbish.
I started Zouking right after it re-opened from the drug bust.It was hot back then.Look at the sad state the club is in these days.
I really look back to mid-late 90s with great fondness and feel sad that those moments with never come back again. -

I blame hip-hop culture for the decadence of youth these days.
Every kid on the streets is decked out in hip-hop attire.To me,hip-hop is noise(not art).Apart from not sounding nice,hip-hop fashion is garbage.
In fact,I think hip-hop is the worst shit around.

I's say that the clubbing scene here has never been international standard.In fact,we don't even compare to our conservative neighbour KL.
The legendary,and now defunct Backroom in KL was the epitome of memorable nights. -

Is it me or has anyone here also noticed that youth these days don't have a strong command of the English language.They prefer speaking in Mandarin,Malay or whatever their mother tongue is these days.
Back when I was in my teens, our group had people from all races and every single one was more comfortable conversing in English.Up to this day,they are extremely aticulate and confident in their speech. -
While the trend is far from new, I believe the 90s will be remembered most for the "studio produced" artists and bands.
In the forefront of the American music scene is a more heavy lure to the urban sounds, world beat, and even the crossover of country music.. We should at least celebrate the vast range of sounds.
Music, with roots from Latino sources, became the rave and show no signs of leaving. For the most the rythmic, upbeat tempo and sexually suggestive lyrics have hit a chord with American audiences. It may not be the roots of Rock and Roll, but it was different and grand! -

These days,you get loads of posers.
I remember kids at Far East getting piercings and tattoos done in school unifrom back then.Weed was abundant in house parties as well. -
