Generally, they do not make bad bosses.

My current boss is a female is she is really good.
However, I dont deny I heard from frens who had bosses who are female that ain't nice at all. -

i feel women tend to be emotional.

it all depends on the lady.. take me for an example.. i'm the sort of lady who makes the worst sort of boss.

It will be back to what one term as good boss.
Some people's opinion of a good boss is rather to the extreme...i.e. expecting the boss to close "eyes" on mistakes, give extra "off-time"...etc
I guess my term of a good boss is that the boss understands the subordinate. Willing to take a step forward to know the subordinate, i.e. family and share his/her background with them. (Shows alot of trust lah). Don't like te-kan, expecting the subordinate to work damn late while he/she goes off w/o a bother...etc. -
Good or not, you have to know what kind, which kind, how kind, where kind, why kind of person she is.

My previous company, the IT dept was runed by females. They go to meetings and forced everyone to pray and they would say gospel and all that.. They would pray at least 15 minutes especially for projects. These women are emotional, always angry, always taking their issues out on their subordinates. Very hard to work with and for them and anytime they not happy, they make your life very miserable and they know it and do it with pleasure. But then the place intro a angmoh man to run the IT dept later and all these old aunties - got oursourced to IBM (some still stay because of political manipluations - ie they save own jobs). I don't expect people in positions of authority to be "nice" as in chit chat with me and all that. This is rubbish. I expect them to help me when I need to get my project going and when I encounter obstacles. Most females and some males are only interested in being "nice" top people to get promoted and use their subordinates to climb higher. Some are being "nice" to subordinate when they need these people to get the work done. I guess that's why sg management style and managers suck. Management don't really know how to lead or manage and use authority correctly. I've not met one who is effective male or female. Therefore, its not just the domain of females who are not good bosses.
There are very lousy male ones too. I had 2 lousy males bosses who were employed to buffer us from the Director of technology (another angry Xtian who takes his scholar anger on everyone of his staff - he literally scolds us and do personal attacks, yelling at the top of his voice the whole floor can hear who and what he is scolding. And all because he's having a short circuit). These managers are bean counters and they are really useless sh!t who take all credit and shift all blame to employees. They stick around cause they know that they would never find another job elsewhere. The fact is that they threatened me when I left my job made me all the more dispise them for what sh!t they did. Oh, I was the only SA in that place. -
Generally people who are petty, too emotional, vindictive, unable to see the big picture don't make good bosses.
It is easy to attach such traits to women because its a stereotype. So when women behave this way, tend to have people saying it is because She's a Woman (which appears to explain it all, but doesn't)
I have seen my share of male bosses with similar traits but mostly people just say "he is a bad boss". For some reason, they never say male bosses with similar traits BEHAVE like a woman.
So when a man is a bad boss, he is a bad boss BECAUSE of blah blah blah
but when a woman is a bad boss, it is because.. well.. she's a woman. -

my prev. sup in the prev company i worked for couple of yrs ago, is a woman... sorry to say but she damm CB....
howeva, my lao ban niang is very good n understanding... due to short of staff, den bo bian lor.. let the CB sup stay....but i requested to be transfered to TPY as i dun wanna have any dispute wif her.....heng im longer working dere.. heard she went from bad to worse...
my bf's manageress oso one god-damm CB woman... she enjoys her butt being licked by b1tch who no nuts abt accts n she sacks those who r useful in the dept. now she's trying to give probs to my bf.. so she got reason to sack him... but my bf din fall into her trap...
