Ahh...gotta love self-righteous bigots that stuff their religion down everyones' throats. Let me guess, the company in question practiced the bone-headed (not sure about now) policy of denying internet access at the workplace, ironic considering what sort of business its in.Originally posted by mistyblue:My previous company, the IT dept was runed by females. They go to meetings and forced everyone to pray and they would say gospel and all that.. They would pray at least 15 minutes especially for projects. These women are emotional, always angry, always taking their issues out on their subordinates. Very hard to work with and for them and anytime they not happy, they make your life very miserable and they know it and do it with pleasure. But then the place intro a angmoh man to run the IT dept later and all these old aunties - got oursourced to IBM (some still stay because of political manipluations - ie they save own jobs). So they move from one GLC to another... there's not many major outsourcing to IBM that happened, I guess some would know which place I'm talking about..

sometimes there is a very good reason for such insecurity. I dont think 'trying too hard' is a good way of handling it at all - but bigotry still exists and is very prevalent as in obvious here. And while in an ideal world, a perfect person can handle such pressures and stresses in a perfect way - in an imperfect world, most of us crumble and struggle.Originally posted by dragg:it is especially bad when a female boss tries too hard to prove that she can be as good as any of her male counterparts.

Hee.. incorrect. It is not important for the boss to be able to do what the subordinate can do. (Because there are always other subordinates who sound be able to do it)Originally posted by sohguanh:A boss who cannot do what a subordinate is doing is nothing. That is why so many people chose to be self-employed... if singapore does not grant such opportunities then there will always be some elsewhere... It is far more important for the boss to do what the subordinate CANNOT do.
Mine didn't need any male counter parts. She's just insecure with herself but would go all out at the expense of everyone to "secure" herself. She also like to play good cop only. Her incompetence is not noticible cause she explains herself a lot and the managers actually is taken in by her lies. So there's a leadership issue in my place but then its just a matter of time when the "leaders" retrenched too many of the employees.Originally posted by dragg:it is especially bad when a female boss tries too hard to prove that she can be as good as any of her male counterparts.

Mines even worse... she has absolutely no paper qualifications and yet she manages to become the unofficial HR manager... she was the personal assistant the director and yet she manages to get her own office..Originally posted by mistyblue:Mine didn't need any male counter parts. actually its more of the boss has to know of what the subordinate has to do and be able to do it to some extent. of course not to do it veyr well but should at least know the basics. its important in coordinating stuff and to understand workload etc.Originally posted by ShrodingersCat:Hee.. incorrect.
