Yup sometimes when they lose certain fights that concern their honour or something, they suicide. The ritual consists of offering tea/wine and they slitting their stomach. I forgot what the name of the ritual is called.

Actually...Samurai are the large scale warriors who conquer land. If i'm not wrong, shoguns are either under them or a class realted to them, but seperate. Its true that samurai value honor, but it is not true that the ninja do not.
Ninja's have a code of conduct that they all follow. They do value honor, but they're secretive ways leads to many aspects of their lives being hidden from the people of their time. A ninja is basically a very welll trained hitman. They have different houses, or families, as do the samurai, but pledge allegiance only to thei own code of honor. Much of the important fighting in old time Japan was doen behind the scences by the ninja. As such, the samurai is very much a theater warrior in modern day context, and the ninja a covert operative. -

beside the difference u guy mentioned about honor, suicide, conducts, i think they are different in how they get things done and wat are they are assigned to do.
Ninjas tend to reply on stealth, which helps them to kill one important person without facing hundreds of body guards. stealth also help them to kill stronger apponent by using suprise atk, range weapon. They use lots of tools to help them get things done, darts, ropes/hooks(they dun enter from front door), poisoned weapon/darts. And they have thier ways to hide and flee when needed. And they are masked to keep thier identity unknown. They killed someone by entering from window while target is sleeping and flee immediately. In conclusion they get thier job done whilte try not be seen, try not to alarm the ppl, try to face as few opponent as possible, try to kill ppl as silently as possible, try to flee as quick as possible.
Samurai dun hide and flee like ninjas, they duel with each other one on one with honor. They reply on thier sword to get things done. A Samurai will kill whoever in his way when he walks in from the front door to kill someone important. Even the opponet is stronger, samurai dun flee, they fight till the end until opponet dies or get killed by opponent. -

The japanese are obssessed with death, and cutting the stomach from left to right means to let the body see the light, whatever that means.
Actually seppuku is done by not only by samuari. In the modern Japan, there are still people who do that, just that it is all hushed up in the family as it is against the law
And know 1 thing, not everybody can perform seppuku, u must be somebody of a high social standing, in other words, nobility in fedual japan. -
From Wat i Noe Dat Samurai Martial Arts is Using Aikido+Kendo. I'm Not sure is it True or not. Abt Ninja, NinjaDo I heard. As For me, BackStabbing, Ninja Will Be My Choice. i Like In Using Their Technics In the Dark. It somehow reminds me like Starwars Where Samurai's are the Jedi's n Ninja's Are The Sith.
