someone people cannot appriciate movies with meaning behind it lah, the book was great, and the ending had some really good meaning behind it, if you are looking for action, go watch Stealth when it comes out, and you guys can also avoid King Kong by peter jackson if you expect different ending.........

there is a few things i dun understand at all,
why is it that the digital video camera can work while all the eletroc stuff like hp, etc cant work?
there was a part where the airplane crash, the reporter can record all the ailen stuff with their eletroc stuff ... ??
why huh? ..
the most strangest things, the airoplane crash, it seems everything is gone, knn their car is perferly ok.....
and the ailen catch the humans and put into their asshole for what ? to eat humans or ?...
can anyone here answer me??

the plane was probably shot in midair, and people vaporized? the tripods go after people, so if the cars were empty, its just no better than a pebble below our feets.
i think.. extract their blood for terraforming the earth to suit their dna or for growing their own native plants to make the environment suit them. you know, the red roots. -

So the real question is whether to really follow the book's plot or just shoot to the audience's liking.
If it was Harry Potter, you will bet that there will be millions complaining if there's any difference between the movie's plot and the book.
If it was LOTR, there will be millions complaining too.
It's not that Spielberg never changed the plot before. In Jurassic Park 2, it had an extra T-Rex roaming the streets of the city. Necessary? Maybe, maybe not.
