Well, its my view only.
Peace.
Aiyo, I dun know to put it in wordsOriginally posted by the Bear:that's how the book went! the whole thing was built up to an anti-climax
anyhooo... acid test.. what did you think of Pulp Fiction...
i found that movie divided the viewers into 2 crowds... the "huh?" and the "wow!"
the "huh?" crowd wanted explosions, car chases, shootouts.. and plot was very low on their priority
the "wow!" crowd just needed a great story with great acting to be moved

For me:Originally posted by the Bear:ahh... i guess.. shoulda joined that contest to "give the movie an alternate ending"...
so... how would you like the ending to be?
the whole thing was.. the aliens came with a roar and died out with a whimper...
why not? why must humans always must have an equal footing all the time? you can't expect a dockworkers to kill hordes and hordes of aliens right?Originally posted by -den-7:war of the world...more like war with the germs...i guess can't blame spielberg cus dats how the book ends...but maybe perhaps he cud put more fighting scenes to show the human resisitance to the aliens..not jus being sitting ducks n getting vaporised...

Well... to me, it was just so draggy ...Originally posted by the Bear:tell us why
coz even Beavis and Butthead can utter "this sucks!"
its doing it justice.Originally posted by gasband:I agree with octega. It doesnt matter whether you read the book or not. When a movie is shown, you should assume that no one has read the book and explain as clearly as possible. It is not a matter of whether you read the book and whether you are showing respect to this classic, it is just a matter of a movie badly ended. Like someone here said, most people knew the ending of shows of Star Wars or LOTR or whatever... does it mean then, the movie can just show the ending with the narrator in just 3 or 4 sentences? I then think that is doing injustice to the book, not us.
