  is it tru dat poly peeps oni listen to chinese songs and JC students indulge in mainly english song?? also dat poly ppl tok in mandarin whilst JC guys converse in english?

  Not true...But I did observe that those that mainly converse in english comes from the school of buisness...but tts still a very small miniority.

  I feel whether one converses in English or not depends very much on his family backround and not what sort of institution he/she attends.
  
  I have noticed those from an affluent family backround where parents are highly educated converse mainly in English whereas the opposite is true for those with a different backround.This is a generalisation and exceptional circumstances may arise though.
  
  I have also noticed that those from medicine,law,business,accountancy and arts faculties converse mainly in English as well whereas the opposite is true for those from the Engineering schools.Once again,there may be exceptions,albeit in minority.
  
  It would be interesting to study this trend to know why certain disciplines appeal more to English speakers.

  im in a jc but i only speak mandarin, i dun even bother speaking english to those that speaks english to me. but im the minority though, after all the majority of the people in my sch are kentang kia-s..
