Really, it has nothing to do with the acting. Not with the props either. It just gives the entire history a cheesy feeling.

If you've never watched the anime or read the manga I guess you can just enjoy the drifting scenes and the humorous parts thrown in especially those involving Itsuki.
For one who's a fan of the anime series, I guess that the movie does a pretty bad job with the character portrayals, especially that of Bunta. Its a great turn-off, really. -
