If i was the terrorist and wanted the maximum effect, why dont i bomb the hotel which the commitee members are staying? Or why not even just a bus stop nearby, I could get 10 times the effect? -
The blasts were probably planned so as to garner as much publicity as possible. This has been a very busy two weeks for the uk. There was the Live8 concert and marches, the G8 summit, and yesterday's olympic decision. Reports have suggested that the blasts weere targerted at grinding London's financial district to a halt. If that is the objective, then it has been acheived because all train services in central london have been stopped and many of the roads in central london have been closed.
I do not think intelligence can be blamed here. The british intelligence have been very effective in preventing an attack and periodically, you will hear news of successful raids being conducted around the country. In fact, I am surprised that the terrorists took so long to strike london. -
terrorists this days are getting more smarter n smarter...i won't be surprised they were planning to hit the city which won the olympic bid...yar lucky didn't hit singapore if not i think will be worse with singapore being so small...utter chaos i think...Imagine MRT stations not working...buses blown up..scary...

I think the olympic decision is only ancillary to the incident. After all, the decision was only made yesterday, and such attacks probably tqke more than 24 hours to plan.
