Planning for Orientation Camps drives me NUTS!

Good or bad, points form a means by which to measure the committment of hostellites and will serve as a reasonable gauge as to whether they should be retained by the hall office and JCRC. As i recall, hall takes in just under 20% of the total no of rooms each year to ensure freshmen are gauranteed a place in hall.Originally posted by Misogynist:We have this point system... Man.. Caution: i say reasonable becoz people have managed to abuse the system and inflate their points to ensure they get priority over the rooms they choose, especially the single rooms. To this end, the student affairs office has done little to stem out the minority of fraud and point-pumping whcih tarnishes the system and causes many to feel disgruntled over the year end room allocation.
Back in my freshman year, i did think the point system was screwed up. But over the years, i realised that there wasn't a better system that could technically match or better it. So i guess SAO settled to maintain the status quo pro.
Still, having points to earn made the majority of those who stayed even more deserving and knowing that these are the kind of people that make your hall so lively is truly refreshing. -

Orientation camps are for sad losers with no life.
Cool people choose not to attend them.Fact.

Since you clearly do not partake in such activities, why label it 'cheap thrill' or 'lame'? That's a cheap shot. What they do in the camp should not affect you in any way since you're not a participant.
The main aim of orientation camps is to know new friends before the start of vasity life.

Cool people don't need to undergo some pathetic orientation camp to get to know more people.
There are loads of friends to be made at clubs,pubs,parties and other social events. -
If orientation camps are for making friends, den BMT must be a damn good orientation.. hahaha
