with the public now more aware or at least wanting to know where their money goes, will churches, temples, and other charities come under scrutiny?

i was surprised that a church near my house built two curved escalators just to go up on level. a flight of steps and a lift for elderly and siabled would have done. even if escalators were really needed, don't see the need for curved ones, which cost much much more.

i feel we should all stop donating to all charities.
this is not to punish the patients. the government must do something about nkf funds. if KDF needs money they can either get it from nkf or their patients can register there.
regardless of what the new board comes up with the 262 million reserves shouldnt be left sitting in nkf while singaporeans continue to donate their hard-earned money. -

Why nobody query them? Didn't they give golden handshake to many of their staff to cut cost?

The Scratch and Win only brought them about $250,000. If I am not wrong, it is shared with Jurong BirdPark. So where the hell they got the million $ to renovate the office? The zoo has been receiving govt grant even though they try to be a commerical entity by increasing prices like hell. Underwater World is much more successful than the zoo as it has all the while been profiting. Besides, UW is under Haw Par Group, not the govt. -

And its not-exactly a NON-profit organisation as you still have to pay ticket to get into zoo or safari....
NKF is very different, its not a ZOO at least....and MORE percentage of funds from public than corporate as from ZOO....
