I think the public should forgive Mrs Goh for her comments regarding the peanuts pay for TT Durai. The reason is because Mrs Goh just the wife of the SM.....and she's not holding any important position in the country that will allow her to mislead the public effectively. I'm not bothered by the peanuts remarks cos I take it as a casual remark similar to any strangers in the public. We all make comments based on our environment and upbringing, so there's no right or wrong in it when Mrs Goh is same as us...a commoner (People who's not in power). So let's just ignore this passing remarks and move on to the main concern in this NKF issue.
Although it is true that if you want someone to perform as a CEO of a company, that person should be getting a CEO's pay. However the root of this problem is how the CEO projects his image/lifestyle to the public. As a CEO, he represents the company of which he manages. So it is definitely unwise for a CEO of a charitable organisation to live lavishly as observed by the public. Mr Durai should be more conscious of his own public image as he is the CEO of a widely known charity organisation in Singapore. If he had carried on with his lifestyle frugally, then even if his appalled salary of 600k per annum is disclosed...the public would have accepted it more easily.
Having the abilities to be a CEO doesn't necessary that person is a CEO material. Where an individual's abilities is concerned, perhaps it is wiser to choose a humbler person to represent the company than a smart aleck.
It would be wise for Mr Durai to either make a public apology to appease the public and restore some confidence to NKF for the sake of the lives on the long list of awaiting patients...rather than the NKF organisation taking their CEO to court for tarnishing the reputation of the organisation and for abusing the trusts of its clients.
There's no easy way out of this deadlock.

how would the rich and famous like Mrs Goh herself know anything money? to her $600,000 might be peanuts. but do know there are many common citizens out there who earn very little, barely able to make ends meets, got family to support, mouths to feed, bills to pay. they are the people who call in to donate. so it was insensitive of her to make that comment.

Always hear about Mr Goh and at NKF shows see Mrs Goh's happy face. But I have never heard about Mr Goh's children. Even LHL we all know he got children and my friend used to teach one of them in some Sec Sch. -

She where got shau nai nai? She's a senior partner of a certain big law firm and has a male secretary to assist her. I think anybody who has a guy for a secretary is not so simple. Actually, a patron's job is just to appear at all the charity functions as Guest of Honour, can liao. In simple words, a patron just be around to show his/her face.
