actually you can . . .especially when you are listening to full orchestra. Mp3s usually tries to focus more on the base and mid range and chop off the high. Haha...anyway that's why in the end, all sound systems(ie speakers) still need this thing call DAC(digital-to-analog converters) to smoothen the 'bar graphs' into 'line graph', since speakers can only read and play line graphs of music(ie music is recorded with point A, point B and point C; when the speakers 'move' frm point A to C, they of course have to between the points in the course of the 'journey', so hence the need to convert digital to analog.Originally posted by ditzy:Now that's the explanation we're waiting for.![]()

It's just not possible to make an inferior recording into a superior one.
The only possible ways are to edit the intricate soundwaves manually by yourself, or something like 'white-noise' removal softwares, so that it sounds cleaner(without the noise only). The music otherwise retains the same quality
Hearing a difference does not mean you are hearing an improvement btw.
