I was quite shocked to learn that Weilian won last night.
Personally, I think JY performs better in terms of singing skills and general performance. Weilian is not too bad also just that he really lacks the X factor needed in a superstar. And the thing that worries me is that Weilian won is it becos of the sympathy votes from many ppl? If that's the case, I really do pity JY becos he has the substance.
I could understand why many ppl have this kinda adverse reaction over Weilian's winning the contest...simply becos they find it unfair to JY. Well, since the results are already finalised, think there's no point in venting anger over Weilian by saying blind guy blind guy...afterall, he has the courage to go for his dreams...wish him luck...and maybe he would get sponsored to treat his eyes and become a healthy normal being again?
As for JY, I believe there are music producers eyeing him already, even though he did not get the honor of being a superstar. Many times, those who lost the title may still have the chance to rebound again cos they are the ones that really have the potential to be a singer...what i mean is that even if he/she win the title, it doesn't assure them that they will be recognise in the singing industry, afterall, competition and real life singing industry is so different...
Xinhui did quite well last night...though she didn't win, i believe she will get her recognition somewhere...hopefully she can be a "shi li pai" singer someday... -

so anyway, back to topic. u know what i was thinking? maybe they should release a album with all the last 24 contestants singing one song. a pity considering some very good contestants got booted out in the early stages, like william, jia xin, wei chong and leon etc. -

it is more difficult to become a superstar by going through singing competitions considering the kind of things they commented about groove, dressing, beat and whatnot. all these can be corrected with guidance and training by professionals.Originally posted by Gordonator:thanks you.

but the chinese industry is entirely different. the eventual winner will probably have an album to test the market. if the result is positive he/she can venture to the far east, a very big market. otherwise his/her career will die a natural death. -

Sg Idol and Superstar have the same motivation.
One dream - either you get it, or you'll lose it all.
The industry is different. I agree with you, i.e Jacinta, Mark Lee, Humpback Oak. English genre is less likely to succeed. The odd one is Corrine May.
Chinese industry is easier to start with, but 'Product Life Cycle' depreciate very fast too. Unless record co is willing to build him up, or the artiste himself is very hardworking.
i.e Proven ones are Jacky Cheung, David Tao.
Locally, Ah Du, Stef Sun and the other one. Forgot.
Too many uncertainties.
