Ratio of females to males in Sg is higher?

Why are there so many more girls in Sg than guys. The population is rising everywhere else too..Is it because the sperm quality is deacreasing because of all the pollution, food products water ect? Singapore fathers too stressed up ad so more girls are born?

Yes, this current generation has more girls than guys. And there are more single girls out there than single guys, sad to say that.
But in about 18 - 20 years' time, the opposite will happen. Based on my observation, in recent years, there seem to be more baby boys than baby girls. 3/4 of my friends' children are boys. Very few of them have girls. Dunno why. -
Cant judge just by a few cases alone. I tot it's a fact that boys tend to outnumber girls by a bit...but because ah mas live longer than ah gongs, that's why female population is higher? -
Let me explain a bit here. I used to hear this from my secondary school teacher, dun know how true it is.
Firstly, the birth ratio for Male and Female have always been roughly 52%/53% to 48%/47%. The reason being,
1. Female live longer than male so there is a need for more male
2. Male when compared to Female, have a weaker determination to survive that why when babies got into trouble during childbirth, it is the female that survive usually.
Therefore in order for the ratio to be balanced thus the discrepancies in the ratio of childbirth.
It is maybe a act of god to balance our population -
X and Y chromosome is contributed by guys while Y chromosome is contribute by gals. thus if any significant effect on guys' sperm will have an immediate impact on the gender of the baby.
