A typical SIngaporean job conflict. Who is the bad hat?

I have here a common ugly incident at work. Staff A, a 50 year old man has just joined the company for 4 days. On the first day of work, he was given a bit of on the job training of how to use the Oracle software system by staff B; a lady in her thirties.
Staff B taught staff A the Oracle system rather hastily and impatiently; without giving much time for Staff A to jot down and take notes of the steps required to execute a sales order. Staff B also spoke aloud that she doesn't like teaching others.
On the 4th day, there were some errors in the new staff (A)'s work. Staff B reported to the boss surreptitiously that there were some incomplete sales orders that staff A had keyed in.
Staff A witnessed the quiet whisperings of Staff B to the boss. Staff A deduced that staff B must have told the boss that the new staff (A) is incompetent or something to the effect. But Staff A did not make/think much of it. (aka backstabbing)
As staff A is new, I believe there should be some margin of error OR what they commonly called the learning curve.
Later when Staff A wanted to process some sales order, staff B told him not to process anymore.
One hour later, Staff A (who had earlier tendered resignation) confronted Staff B over what had happened. Staff A banged on the table very loudly and give Staff B a piece of his mind. That is, as a new staff, there are bound to be some errors in a new staff's work initialy.
Staff A also reiterated that if staff B dislike teaching other new staff in OJT, then she should stay at home; because every old/senior staff should help to give OJT to new staff.Staff A comented that staff B is being selfish in her attitude.
SO gentlemen and ladies, my question is :-
1) who is the instigator/ catalyst for disharmonious office environment???
2) Is the approach taken by staff B wrong?

if A wasn't sure the exact steps, he should've asked others if he felt B was unapproachable.
B's a bitch, but A gave up too easily. -
if the senior staff has no interest in teaching others she should at least tell the boss and arrange for someone else to take over. otherwise she should just stay at home.
obviously she has an attitude problem.
if i am the 50 yr old man i will tell her off in everyone's presence.
i guess she is just plain bias again old folks. -

i had a subordinate who is worst than staff b.
she is like the devil's advocate. dont understand why these people find it so difficult to be harmonious. -
When I first started work i was naive ... and wanted to treat everyone with respect and help everyone ... After 10 ++ year of working...
My conclusion is F U C K !!!.... human are sinister creature you have to mean, nasty and selfish to survive in this society

Not only sickening this world is depraved crazy and filled with demented and peverted ppl who will play all sorts of games to secure rice bowl.

This is an elementary problem..It is not surprising that senior staff would not want to teach the new staff in case she loses her influence if the new staff can do just as well or better.
As an employer myself, what I do is create a training file stating all the skills the new staff must learn and the supervisor in charge of teaching. I make it clear to the senior staff it is their responsibility to make sure the new staff can perform to their satisfaction. When the supervisor is satisfied, she has to sign off in the training file. I will test the new staff at the end of his training and based on his performance, I know which is the good senior staff and which is not.
It is in the interest of the senior staff to train well because if I am not satisfied with the performance of the recruit, I will not allow him to take over the routine duties of the senior staff. On top of that, a senior that cannot teach well will acquire a black mark against his performance... -

Wrong person in wrong job and still expect training. The world is not that kind.
If there is any issue with the training, Staff A should approach Boss, not Staff B. -

Dragg, at the end of the day, if u can go back home and sleep well, then it is all worthwhile. At the end of the day, wat u have 4 urself is your integrity. -
You can still be kind and helpful. But do it without expecting the same from others. There is no need to be nasty to others. Just do whatever that is good.
