IMO, if you are academically inclined, go for the JV, otherwise Poly would be a better bet. Afterall, if your Poly result is good, you can still go for U.

Poly or JC, all can work as long as you are willing. Consider this:
If you stop study after JC, you only get a "A" level, but if you stop after Poly, you get a Diploma, which in my opinion, is more valuable. -

but my advice...choose wat u like...dun choose for the sake of ur parents/better job prospect...

If your parents earn peanuts, by all means go poly and go overseas after that to get 1 or 2 years of exemption. Better still go overseas to study 1 year for foundation and 3 or 4 years for your degree.Originally posted by sbst275:Nope..

While in JC you study boring general subjects, it is a good price to pay for the pushing the specialisation decision point to an older and more mature age of 19 rather than 17 for poly. -
If you take combined science or a B3 and below(esp when you have already worked very hard) for your pure since, life in JC science stream is gonna be sh|t for you. I see people working so hard and in the end I see at best a C grade for their As. B3 is the bare minimum liaoz...I'd recommend at least an A2 for your pure sciences if you wanna take Science stream
If you are arty farty, by all means, go for JC arts. Dun ngeh ngeh go for science just to show 'I'm from science stream lehz' cos you too are going to have a sh|t life.
And apparently, I see people who are very good at E maths and Physics(dun study also can score) are then suitable for econs, because they grasp the concepts better. Otherwise, you have to be damn good at essays to bullsh|t your way to score marks, which is possible too.
If the above doesn't apply to you, just go Poly, or you'll find yourself really wasting your 2 years in JC(in the end having to go overseas, or worse, re-enter poly again). -
Well, nowadays if you have thought what you wanna be after O levels, I think you are better... some confidence buddy.....i think you best go to poly then. at the very least you'll end up with a diploma and ready for the job market, what's more you can normally go on to year 2 degree programme if you study the same field. as for a-level, unless you go on to uni it's pretty much useless these days.Originally posted by c0ol_blu3z:i think i alright leh JC is possible.,.....
