1 GOH is chosen frm each of the 4 contingents, they are representative of CMIO - 1 chinese, 1 malay, 1 indian, 1 others (usually eurasian), plus one of them must be girl (usually police cos army, airforce confirm no girl one).
There is a coloured sticker pasted on the ground in front of the chosen GOH and the Prez looks out for that coloured sticker so he knows who to talk to.
Typical questions will be asked like "are you proud to be in the parade blah blah..."
During my year 2003, the Prez pah jeow didn't see sticker for my contingent and walked right by w/o stopping. My fren who was 'the chosen one' was like tamade, told all his frens and relatives that Prez will be talking to him, in the end malu, never got to appear on tv. -

GOH are told not to make eye-contact wif the Prez. Juz look straight.
