  Troubled peace? Referring to the Age of Terror aren't you? Using this as an excuse to clamp down on civil liberty is at best, lame. After all, the UN conference in Madrid in March said democracy is the best method to deal with terrorism. AFAIK, the 4 protestors are nowhere near the level of terrorists.

  3rd world as far as civil liberty is concerned. Even Bangkok is slightly better in this department. Student unions are highly-motivated where social activism is concerned.

  I really do not think that Singapore is laughed at by other countries.
  I genuinely think that they cannot believe or do not know that such stupid things happen in singas.

  In China, the chinese gov used 700 riot police to break up 10,000 rioters. In Singapore, the gov used 40 to break up 4 persons who can be barely labelled as demonstrators.
  
  I say we sack the police commissioners and hire the China police FTs. They are more efficient.

  that is pure bullShit PAP talk and you and I know it. the number sure as hell wasn't going to balloon several fold. This is singapore, where people feel the need to mostly stay out of trouble. Decisiveness? Ill-considered, knee-jerk over-reaction is more like it.
