If he can mobilise 10,000 and above Singaporeans for demonstrations, the gov will be really scared cos they can't arrest all 10,000 people. These few months will be the best months for him to mobilise people since people are still fresh with the NKF saga and the gov one-sided comments on Kwan. Once we hit christmas, it will be very difficult since the mood will be different.Originally posted by sbst275:Well I suspect CSJ though not really going to make demo or riot, I think he can be capable to getting ppl to do it

If I have a choice "achievements and successes" or "not laughing stock of the civilised world", I will choose the former. How about you?Originally posted by av98m:What a disgrace. It is no wonder that Singapore, despite all its achievements and successes, still remains the laughing stock of the civilised world.![]()
The problem is, the achievements and successes are mostly in the past (the ruling party loves to keep trumpeting its earlier history while glossing over their recent failures), but the factors contributing to "laughing stock" are very much in the present.Originally posted by pisces8:If I have a choice "achievements and successes" or "not laughing stock of the civilised world", I will choose the former. Yes, I agree with your observation. The mishandling of the 4 “protesters” is really “laughing stock”.Originally posted by av98m:The problem is, the achievements and successes are mostly in the past (the ruling party loves to keep trumpeting its earlier history while glossing over their recent failures), but the factors contributing to "laughing stock" are very much in the present.![]()
in some places, these numbers can quickly ballooned several fold within the span of an hour. some may called it opression but this act of decisiveness is something that our country can do with during this period of troubled peace.Originally posted by Li Ka Shing:Only 4 people demonstrating, and the police sent one dozen fully equipped riot police and forced them to disperse. I got something to ask: Is this opression or what? Who are the police supposed to be? Protector of the people or protector of the government? The police is supposed to serve the people, protect the people, serve the NATION, not the STATE.
These 4 people asked for transparency and accountability. These are decent people, not criminals or rioters. Yet, some power-abusers are hyper-allergic and quell it immidiately.
Look at what they did, one dozen riot police. They couldn't use the law on permits, since it's fewer than 5 persons, so it's a 'public nuisance' instead. Such a lame excuse. Would u really send one dozen riot police for a public nuisance case? If I call and report 4 people playing soccer, making loud noise, will u send one dozen riot police? Har? Har? HAR? Answer lehhhh....!
