i suggest just be urself and confident. if u wanna be a commander or officer, always show urself that u can be a team player, in that way ur superior will take notice of u.
other than that, take training seriously, when comes to training....its training, always mentally prepared to be Farked and training can be tough....but always realistic....
have ur own mind in things.....if whole platoon bunch of slackers and u wanna follow...good luck....u will be tio aimed!
What u can do in this big island b4 going in? well i suggest u spend more time with ur loved ones..b4 u get confined 5 days a week....sort all ur things out and such....in short....go have fun too!!

Dont worry. I spoke to many of my friends and they said now the main aim is diferent from the past. Last time, its more like sgt tikan recruits. But now, many of my army cronies complain that their role has shift from an instructor to a child care teacher. This is what i have gathered from my friends la.

certain places:
tekong island ... i remember harbouring at the old BMTC school 2 (the old famous one with SOC overlooking the clift, the one with the famous 3 doors) standing at the edge of the clift and looking down at a silvery sea lit by a full moon, and the lights of singapore shimmering in the distance, with airplanes coming into changi
pasir laba: several places, the reserviors right by the sea are beautiful during sunset and sunrise, and you'll get a parnoramic view of singapore and all the way to the second causeway and malaysia when do your MG live-firing etc, at the steep knoll (anyone know the name of the place ? )
you'll see plenty of interesting places in singapore you won't be able to see once you store away your no 4 lah .... but at times you'll really wish that you have a char bor with you to share the beautiful sceneries ..... like that place at BMTC school 2, i look up at the moon and sighed ..... then i look down and saw my buddy's face all covered in camo cream ... sian ji bua ....... -
