Diff b/w 2nd upper and 1st class honors in UNI

What do you mean by pay having little or no difference?...i'm sure 1st class will earn at least $300-$500 bucks more than a 2nd upper with a starting pay of at least $3200 k for fresh grads. hmm..

But the initial salary is affected is it not? Don't know how it works where you guys come from, but third-class is seriously bad news round these parts. It's pretty much a sign that the university just doesn't want to admit that the student shouldn't have been admitted into the Honours course in the first place.

Is there a 3rd Class honour? Sorry, I really don't know. Only heard of 1st, 2nd upper and lower.

1st and 2nd upper considered same....cos 1st Class is normally High Bs and As and 2nd Upper is High Bs

in australia, if you get 1st class honours, you can go straight to PhD, if not need to get masters first.

Not quite. First class is preferable, but technically a second-upper also qualifies you to apply.
