But what thing bugs me, in th efinal scenes he was shown to walk out of the train. How did he managed to walk if he was crippled? -
I feel elijah is a delusional person like a real life character much like the old yuppies we find around our neighbourhood. Finally he was admitted into the institution for the criminally insane and charged on counts of terrorism.
The whole point of the movie was not about Elijah guy but Good vs the Evil all around us and the responsibilty everyone of us in making the world a safer place to live in. He as just a vehicle of that ideology. -
It was a good movie. I wondered why everyone said it was so bad. This is the first time I caught it. And I must say that I enjoyed it immensely.
Well. Everday people can become heros. And even the most crippled of us can create mind boggling terrors. -

last week's signs is terrible. at least Unbreakable is a liitle bit better. turns out elijah is the one who planted all those bombs in order to find his super hero.
but the pace for both movies is like super slow. everyone talk so slowly in both movies.

Hm... for your information, Unbreakable is said to be his worst movie of all his brilliants collections in the US.
And because of that, Night himself never mention about this movie after. He emphasized mainly, on Signs, Sixth Sense and of course The Village.
Well... to each his own I think. I'm one of those who thinks that The Village is a marvellous show. In fact, I really think it's brilliant. For those who were disappointed, I guess you really wanted something to scare you off, you wanted the "porcupine" thingy to be a real creature?
The story isn't really just about some rich goons who went to create a village out of nowhere suddenly. If you still remember, all of them, were actually depressed, disappointed, and sick of the society they were once living in. Full of robberies, rapes, thefts, murders, you name it. If I can recall, Sigourney Weaver's sister was raped and murdered. The blind girl's father's wife was robbed, and murdered...
They realise that society, is a problem itself. Where is all the innocence? Hence, this group of people decided to move to the "past", a laid back background where all things root back to a normal and simpler civilisation. All these, for the better good of their children.
This spiky creature acts mainly, as a deterrent for their curious younger generation to wander off further into the forest and eventually, find out the ugly fact of life itself.
This twist, was kept away from every one of the actors involved. Even their agents and family weren't supposed to know the ending.
Hm... I think Night, is a genius.

I agree, and this show also made me think of how the village's group of elders well-intentioned use of fear to control the population can be likened to our very own society. There are quite a few parallels which I could draw during the time when the movie was released. Eg. Bush trying to justify the Iraq war by telling his people of the WMD in Iraq and generally playing on the fear and paranoia of the public. Other examples are the legendary strict regulatory laws of our country like censorship/chewing gum. Will these good intentions result in negative repercussions?????
