Anyway, i think that Channel U should change the show name to "Music Talent Search" or something..... not "JUE DUI SUPERSTAR"... it makes the word superstar lose it's meaning.

i have seen him busking outside mrt stations. he can really sing. i feel that his handicap is not helping him. like he mentioned in the papers, if all he got were sympathy votes will it last for 3 months? thats a bit long isnt it? -

luckily we have at least 50% who are still very sensitive and thoughtful of handicapped people. They are the core of a good society.
the other 50%, they may not understand it forever. Unless one day something bad happens on themselves, their family, their children. Then I believe they will realize what we are saying here... -
Realli disappointed at Xinhui's exit... Kelly is good but I think Xinhui is better... her singing is great, her confidence and poise is astonishing, reali impressed me alot... remember how she encouraged other contestants when they got eliminated, and how she carry herself when she herself got eliminated, that not easy for anyone, she reali exhibits the "Da Jiang Zhi Feng" that a SUPERSTAR should possess... Plus she's the one that made consistant improvement throughout the competition, whereas Kelly didn't improve much...
perhaps it's luck that Xinhui lacked...

I think it is all about how one feel abt the person, not the talents.
I heard a lot of ppl saying give Weilian a chance bcoz not easy for the blind...give until he now going to be superstar.
I heard ppl say Xinhui cannot let her win bcoz she Malaysian...really kenna gun down.
We saw how the judges try to make results...but lose control to votes...

believe it or not, wei lian actually got a sizeable fan base from all those years of performing on the streets. many of us might have seen him before singing next MRT stations. this might be where all his support came from.

if the people who voted for weilian is blind, then the people who voted for JY is deaf...i mean, JY is good, but on that nite, his vocal is not as good as WL, he sings without emotions, clearly affected by his flu...esp. his first song...went off key at least 3 times...and for an undergrad, his english diction sucks...if you listen carefully, intead of "i'll keep you right by my side" he sings "i'll keep CHEW by my side" wah kao...really ah beng english...
kelly didn't perform well, when she came on stage for the second song, i thought that her dance steps look awkward...didn't really suit that song...i think she got confused with the dance version...and she often sings off beat...
all said, i'll still be supporting WL...like i did on wed... -

they are all superstars.
they will do well, each is unique and strong fans base as can tell from posts here and all over singapore.
just disappointed at channel U rush to indoor stadium with only 2 contestants instead of 4. -

i just wish someone with background in vocal training can give an enlightenment on how to really describe good vocals from bad ones.
what terms do vocal teachers used?
to me the 4 are just great, they can manage well in all kind so sings. -
in music, you listen for:
1). your harmony in the singing (with the music).
2). On the beat, dun lose the ryhthm or went off beat.
3). style of singing
4). dynamic range (soft to loud)
5). dynamic pitch (ability to sing very low to very high)
6). smooth voicing and the song fits your voicing.
also includes the dress-sense, interaction with the audience, blah blah, looks etc. lah... -
maybe they will sign both first n second place female n male winner n runnerups?Look at Singapore Idol n u will know.... onli Taufik won but see how many pple gpt a cpmtract which is e most important.

ITs biased anyway. And there are good biases and bad biases... leaving everything aside (the fact that WL is visually handicapped).... if you compare their performances... JY definately did better than WL... But just because WL is blind, maybe people just lowered their expectations in him... they already felt so touched when they saw WL having so much courage, singing on stage, whether he can sing better than the others, whether he can dance... it didn't matter to these compassionate audience anymore...
I'm not saying that he's not good, but the term SUPERSTAR just isn't right for him....Ocean Ou De Yang's album topped the charts....I can say he is a very successful music talent.. but that doesn't mean he's a superstar right... I believe Weilian belongs to this category of artises instead. E.g of superstars = Lin Junjie, Yanzi, Yida...and the 4 heavenly kings..etc..
The other contestants got criticised in everyway for not having superstar calibre...e.g looks.. confidence.. style... and got booted very shortly after.....even when they can sing... Ignoring the fact that Weilian is blind, I don't think his performance is any better than the others... and this is a Good bias.. coz if he isn't visually handicapped.. he might have got booted earlier on...
Anyway... speaking of SLY...
Yeah i agree.... anyone in the top 10 of Superstar.. is much more better than him... I wonder how the heck he even became runner up..... and regarding his new album.... yah i can't deny that the songs are great (coz they weren't written by him) but his singing sucks... he sounded like some pathetic rock star wannabe... cannot make it lah... i wonder if they sell his album in Taiwan anot.. better not... better not make a fool outta himself and throw Sinapore's face.......
And.. he doesn't look like an idol at all... he looks more like a typical chao ah beng next door.... oh yah.. with a permanent cramped face and slanted lips
And P.S I'm not a fan of JY.. infact I haven't been watching Jue Dui Superstar until this wednesday...only then I gotta know who's Jun Yang... i'm merely stating the facts.. what I have observed.. -

i saw him singing many times outside tampines mrt station. big crowd gathers whenever he performs. many people were already impressed with his singing then.
this is why i am inclined to think that welian won not because of his handicap but because he has won many supporters long before the competition started. -

Judges' point worth how many percent of overall result?
I am thinking that the system is flaw. it should be 50% judge and 50% audience.
