Well, I suppose one could argue that it is a reproductive act, but reproduction is by definition not the intent of prostitution. Being an unnecessary act (made so by reproduction not taking place), and being something that is paid for, it fits the definition of a luxury.

Hmm..but prostituition by definition is sex bought with money. Sex is a need of every human according to maslow laws of human needs.
